April was always going to be a big test for the new-look Vancouver Whitecaps with games against some of Major League Soccers top teams. Eric Berry Chiefs Jersey . After back-to-back matches against LA Galaxy, the Caps now head to Rio Tinto Stadium - a place where they have never won - to face Real Salt Lake, the only remaining unbeaten team in Major League Soccer this season. The Form: The Whitecaps are winless in their last three matches, but after a hard fought defeat at LA and a 2-2 draw against the Galaxy at home, there are clear signs the team is growing under new head coach Carl Robinson. "In the last two games weve shown we can compete against one of the top teams in Major League Soccer," said Robinson. "Now its another great challenge for us. You look at the fixtures weve had and its been tricky against good teams. We get another big test. They are a squad that has been together for the last couple of years so its another marker to see where we are." The Big Question: Will Kekuta Manneh start? The 19-year-old has appeared in every match this season but has started only once. The young Gambian was impressive coming on as a half time substitute against LA Galaxy at BC Place a week ago. He injected life into the Whitecaps attack and scored the game-tying goal with a fantastic strike with just four minutes left to play. "I toyed with the idea of playing him from the start, said Robinson. "Me, being a young head coach thought is it better to be in the game and then unleash him on them." Theres no doubt Manneh has loads of talent and will have a big future in the game. But there is also still plenty that he needs to learn. Robinson doesnt want to rush the youngster, and acknowledges he needs to improve his defensive qualities before he becomes a regular starter. This is a long-term project. Robinson wants to build the Whitecaps around some fantastic young players, a job that doesnt need to be rushed. Manneh will continue to get his chance at the right times. That also applies for Erik Hurtado. The speedster was drafted along with Manneh in the first round in 2013. Hes still waiting for his first MLS goal, but was another big spark in the second half against LA when he came on as a substitute last week. "Hes been training very well over the last two or three weeks and from where he was last year to where he is now, it is night and day for the kid," said Robinson when asked about Hurtados form. "If he continues to push hell get plenty of opportunities." The Lineup: Aside from whether Manneh will come into the starting lineup, one of the other big decisions for head coach Carl Robinson is in defence. Its extremely likely that Robinson will select Johnny Leveron in the team after bringing the Honduran on at halftime of the draw against the Galaxy. Robinson has made no secret of the fact that he admires the qualities Leveron possesses, particularly his ability with the ball at his feet. The Hondurans abilities match the way Robinson wants his team to play. Leverons only start this season was at New England where the Whitecaps registered their only clean sheet so far. On that day he was beside Andy OBrien. It will be interesting to see which one of the veterans - OBrien or Jay DeMerit - is replaced if Leveron gets the call to start. The Opposition: Stability has been a major factor in the success of Real Salt Lake over recent years. Despite losing head coach Jason Kreis at the end of last season when he departed to join expansion club New York City FC, RSL has started the season strongly under new head coach Jeff Cassar. He may be in his first season as manager, but Cassar has been at the club since 2007 and was a key part of Kreis coaching staff. They have also managed to keep a core group of players together over the last few seasons. Eleven of Salt Lakes current squad have been with the club for five years of longer. Real Salt Lakes 1-0 win at home to Portland Timbers last week leaves them four points ahead of the Whitecaps heading into Saturdays match. Their clean sheet against the Timbers was their fourth of the season, in just seven matches. Veteran goalkeeper Nick Rimando was the star of the show, winning the MLS Player of the Week award for his performance. The Odds: One of the areas the Whitecaps will need to improve upon if they are to make the playoffs this season is picking up points against Western Conference opposition. Both of Vancouvers wins so far wins this season have come against the East (New York and Houston). From four matches against Western opponents, they have two draws and two defeats. History isnt on the Whitecaps side as they head to Utah - theyve only won two of eight previous meetings against RSL, and have never won at Rio Tinto Stadium with three losses and a tie from their last four visits. With RSLs strong start to the season, the home team will be heavy favourites heading into the match, but the Caps showed against LA a couple of weeks ago they have the potential to go toe-to-toe with the leagues top teams, even on the road. Where to Watch: Vancouver Whitecaps at Real Salt Lake is live on CTV2 BC on Saturday at 6:30pm pt/9:30pm et. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif Chiefs Jersey . The native of Mont-Tremblant, Que., captured a World Cup downhill event Saturday, his second this year and fifth career victory on the circuit. Anthony Sherman Chiefs Jersey . Should the Cowboys trust Chaz Green to be future starting RT

Příspěvekod Angel92 » 11 bře 2017 02:54

While fans and analysts alike rush to figure out ways to fill the gaping holes at cornerback, safety and defensive end for the Dallas Chaz Green Jersey Cowboys, there is another issue lurking in the shadows.
While the Cowboys’ offensive line is viewed as the most dominant unit in the NFL, they are only as strong as their weakest link.
At the moment, that link isn’t all that weak. While Doug Free may be the worst player on Dallas’ offensive line, he is still among the better right tackles in the NFL. However, at 33 years old with a myriad of injuries taking their toll, Free is likely on the precipice of a major decline in his playing abilities.
Furthermore, Free is going into the last year of his contract and unless he kick slides himself into the fountain of youth, that will likely end his tenure in Dallas.
Former third-round pick Chaz Green is typically viewed as Free’s eventual replacement, but should he be?
Why he should
The biggest reason Green should be tabbed as Dallas’ future starter at right tackle is because he’s proven to be a capable player on the field:

Who is this and what have they done with Chaz Green? Another solid rep. Showing a ton of growth early in this game.

Green showed a ton of improvement in getting out of his stance, creating space and maintaining a half-man relationship with a defenderhttp://www.authenticsteelersshop.com/shop-by-players-artie-burns-jersey-c-2_13.html (the three laws of pass protection).
On this play, you see Green (the left tackle) explode into the drive-catch phase of pass protection. The Cowboys appear to be utilizing a BOB (big-on-big) call for the left side of the protection. Green shows solid discipline and mental processing to not get sucked into blocking the blitzing linebacker. Instead, he carries out the block on the defensive end.
One of the reasons why Dallas selected Green in the third round of the 2015 draft was because of his movement abilities. Despite lacking in other areas, Green has silky smooth feet that allows him to recover and block pass-rushers where most linemen would fail. This play is a great example:

Green gets out of his stance and to his landmark with relative ease and quickness while trying to obtain the half-man relationship. Because of a poor punch, the defensive end is able to briefly get to Green’s edge with a path to the quarterback; however, Green’s quick feet allow him to recover and get in position to maintain the block.
The best part of Green’s skill setDenver-Broncos Womens Jersey is that it continues to show development. While some players stagnate once they get into the NFL, Green has developed nicely with his fundamentals that were lacking when he entered the league.

He is by no means a finished product, but he has shown he has the tools necessary to become a solid right tackle in the NFL with a little more consistency in his pass sets and a better punch.
Why he shouldn’t
Even though there is a ton of optimism surrounding Green’s development, it doesn’t matter at all if he can’t stay on the field.
Green’s college career was marred by injury as he dealt with ankle injuries and a torn labrum, and it hasn’t gotten any better in the NFL. He missed his entire rookie campaign because of a hip injury and parts of 2016 because of a foot sprain before being put on injured reserve because of a back issue.
In the NFL, the best ability is availability, and Green has proven that he can’t stay healthy.
Best course of action
Until Green shows that he can stay healthy, it would be foolish to place any trust in him being the starting right tackle.
It is one thing for the Cowboys to continue to trust a player like Sean Lee, who, before this last season, failed to stay healthy for an entire season, when he has proven to be a Pro Bowl caliber player when active. Even though Green has looked good in his appearances with the starting line, his performances are nowhere near Pro Bowl caliber.
Thus, it would be smart of Dallas to acquire their right tackle of the future, immediately.
If they decided to go the free agency route, a player like Luke Joeckel would be a great option. If they wanted to go the draft route, theyhttp://www.officialvikingshop.com/shop-by-players-charles-johnson-jersey-c-2_43.html could grab a guy like Ryan Ramczyk or Taylor Moton in this first couple rounds or a player like Antonio Garcia with a mid-round pick.
Still, the answer to the original question is clear: Chaz Green isn’t the future starting right tackle the Cowboys are looking for, and it’s time for Dallas to find a player who is.

Sports Business Daily first reported the news.
Both the Oakland City CouncilAndre Smith Authentic Jersey and the Alameda County Board of Supervisors voted in mid-December to support a plan to enter into an exclusive negotiating agreement with former NFL legend Ronnie Lott's investment team to build a new stadium for the Raiders. The plan submitted by Fortress Investment Group represents that group's formal outline for how it hopes to keep the team in the Bay Area.
The Oakland council voted 7-0, with one abstention, and the county board voted 3-1, to accept the plan, which will create a $1.3 billion coliseum complex. The 130-acre, 55,000-seat stadium development would sit on land that is jointly owned by the county and the city.
The group said last month thathttp://www.officialvikingssale.com/shop-by-players-andre-smith-jersey-c-2_10.html Fortress, its financial backer, had been acquired by Japanese billionaire Masayoshi Son's tech conglomerate SoftBank for $3.3 billion.
Team owner Mark Davis formally filed for relocation in January. Nevada has approved $750 million in public money to build a $1.9 billion stadium for the Raiders in Las Vegas. But that bid suffered two major setbacks this week, when casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, pulled out of his $650 million commitment, and investor Goldman Sachs walked away.
The league is expected to vote on the move this month. Of 32 NFL team owners, 24 would have to approve the deal in order for the move to Las Vegas to happen.
Jason Cole, a closely followedhttp://www.authenticnflraidersshop.com/shop-by-players-sebastian-janikowski-jersey-c-2_67.html writer for Bleacher Report, tweeted last week that that team was claiming it had found financing, saying " # NFL source said # Raiders exec Marc Badain told the league the team has two banks ready to loan money for the Las Vegas project."
The Raiders did not respond to a request for comment Wednesday.

Vikings DE Danielle Hunter’s goals: starting lineup, Pro Bow

Příspěvekod Angel92 » 11 bře 2017 02:56

The Vikings had five defensive playersRonnie Lott Authentic Jersey in the Pro Bowl last month, and another sitting in the stands.
When nose tackle Linval Joseph was named Jan. 13 as a replacement for the Jan. 29 game in Orlando, Fla., one of the first things he did was invite teammate Danielle Hunter to be one of his guests.
So Hunter, a second-year defensive end who led the Vikings in 2016 with 12 1/2 sacks, watched with members of Joseph’s family. He came away determined to play in the game next year.
“(Joseph) felt like I should have been there, and he wanted me to be a part of it,” Hunter said. “So I said, ‘All right.’ Just being there made me more hungry to play in the Pro Bowl.”
Joseph, a native of the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Hunter, who is from Jamaica, both have Caribbean backgrounds and are close. Other players from Minnesota’s well-regarded defense who played in the Pro Bowl were defensive end Everson Griffen, linebacker Anthony Barr, and defensive backs Harrison Smith and Xavier Rhodes. The other Viking in the game was kick returner Cordarelle Patterson.
“I’m working for the Pro Bowl every year,” Hunter said.

The quest for the next one began inGreen-Bay-Packers Womens Jersey earnest not long after Minnesota’s disappointing 8-8 season ended Jan. 1. Hunter has been working out in Houston, his hometown, under the direction of notable trainer James Cooper at O Athletik, a Houston club co-owned by Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.
Peterson, also trained by Cooper, wasn’t on hand earlier this week for a workout involving several athletes, but Hunter was. So was former Vikings tight end MyCole Pruitt, now with the Chicago Bears.
“I’m trying to improve in every aspect,” Hunter said at the club. “I can get faster, bigger, stronger, stuff like that.”
A third-round draft pick out of LSU in 2015, Hunter had six sacks as a rookie. He more than doubled that in 2016, having the most sacks by a Minnesota player since Jared Allen’s 22 in 2011. And he did it despite not starting a single game.
Hunter, 22, would like that to change. Defensive end Brian Robison, who turns 34 in April and has been a starter since 2011, said last month Hunter is ready to start, although Robison said he will do what he can to keep his spot in the lineup.
“(Robison) said he’s not going to make it easy. But that’s definitely something that I’m competing for, the starting job,” Hunter said. “(Defensive line coach Andre Patterson), tells me it’s all about competition, and I’m just going to go out there and compete and see what happens.”
Cooper is determined to make sure the 6-foot-6 Hunter is even better next season. He said the plan before Hunter reports for offseason workouts in April is for him to gain four pounds of muscle, getting him up to 260.

“He has a high motor, big engine,” Cooper said. “Adding a little more body weight won’t affect his speed. He’s going to gethttp://www.officialvikingshop.com/shop-by-players-kyle-rudolph-jersey-c-2_25.html faster and stronger. He’s one of those guys that has a mind-set of wanting to get better.”
Cooper said he’s also working with Hunter to add some moves to his game.
“We’re going to learn two extra moves, and they’re secrets,” Cooper said. “In the NFL, the job of the offensive coordinator is to have plays designed (to stop) him with the success he’s had, so you have to evolve and have better moves other than being just an athlete and having one or two combinations. So tactically he’s going to get a lot better. He had a great season, but you just don’t want to sit here and rest on that.”
Hunter certainly isn’t doing that. He’s working out three days a week, and will increase that to four days a week later this month.
Hunter is using BOSU balls, bands and bungees to focus on small muscle groups as well as running in a pool. Large muscle groups will be addressed later with weightlifting.
During a workout earlier this week, Pruitt was nearby. Pruitt, a fifth-round pick by the Vikings in 2015, was waived in November and http://www.authenticraiderssale.com/shop-by-players-sean-smith-jersey-c-2_47.html signed to the practice squad before the Bears added him to their 53-man roster in December.
“It was tough (leaving the Vikings), but you know it’s what had to be done at the moment,” Pruitt said.
The Bears play Minnesota twice each season, and Pruitt could end up blocking Hunter. He said Hunter is looking good, but he did joke about perhaps slowing down the pass rusher and the Vikings.
“I’ll try to mess them up,” Pruitt said with a laugh. “Keep them off the quarterback.”

REPLAYLooking to the Combine00:00/08:00
* It was 1989, and the NFL ScoutingShilique Calhoun Womens Jersey Combine was at hand. Carnell Lake, a linebacker from UCLA who was going to try to make a living as an NFL safety, was going to Indianapolis to make an impression. Deion Sanders, a cornerback from Florida State, Prime Time in the making, was going there to put on a show.
* “I knew I was going to try to make the transition from linebacker to safety,” said Lake, “and so what I really was trying to do was to shed myself of all linebacker thoughts.”
* Lake played in both the East-West Shrine Game and the Senior Bowl, but he knew he needed to show NFL scouts more if he was going to entice them to use a draft pick on him. Bill Nunn is one of the greatest scouts of all time, and his philosophy on defensive backs always has been that you watch to see if the guy has the requisite athletic skills and movement. If a guy has that, then Nunn believes he can be coached to play the position the way his team wants it done.
* “What I thought I would do in my preparation for the Combine was I didn’t worry about the bench press, because I knew I’d be strong enough for cornerback or safety,” said Lake. “I wanted to make sure I was ready for the 40 and the vertical jump and the other drills I would have to do. So once the Senior Bowl ended, I didn’t go into the weight room hardly at all. I just went onto the field and ran 40s and did defensive back drills.”
* Lake played on a UCLA defense that included Daryl Henley, a cornerback who ended up drafted in the second round by the Rams that same year, and for Lake there was no stint at a performance camp or paying a private trainer. He simply asked Henley to show him some defensive back drills he could practice on his own.
* “When I got to the Combine, they didn’t tell me what group I was going to be in,” said Lake. “Initially, they threw me in with the linebackers, and I knocked that out. I wasn’t worried about doing the 40, or the vertical, or the cone drills with the linebackers. I figured I’m probably going to be faster than those guys anyway. What IVince Williams Authentic Jersey was concerned about was whether they would put me in the defensive backs drills. It turned out they put me in both. So on the day of the workouts, I had to stay. I did the linebacker drills with the linebackers, and then they told me to stay and I did the defensive backs drills with the DBs. I had to work out twice that day.”

PHOTOS: Highlights - Carnell Lake
* And so it was that Lake’s Combine experience included working in the same linebackers group with Derrick Thomas and then running the 40 with the defensive backs group that included Deion Sanders. Also at that time, players did the bench press and the 40 on the same day, at least those players who weren’t sufficiently big-time to avoid it.
* “I’m exhausted after I finished the linebacker drills, and Deion is over there warming up for the 40,” said Lake. “Deion said, ‘I’m just running the 40. I’m not doing any of that other stuff.’ And I thought to myself, man, I wish I had it like that. I was bench pressing and stretching and jumping. When the 40 times came out, I thought, I’ll bet I would’ve been a lot closer to Deion’s time if I didn’t have to do all of that other stuff.”

* The time Sanders posted in that 40-yard dash 28 years ago remains the stuff of Combine legend. As Lake remembered it, Sanders ran the 40 – one time – and after he crossed the tape at the finish he just kept sprinting. Down the field. Into the tunnel at the corner of the end zone. Gone. Left the building. Never checked on his time. Didn’t care to run again to try to do better.
* Sanders' time was a hand-held 4.2. And the story goes that when he ran out of the tunnel, he continued to run out of the stadium, where one version of the legend has it he got into a waiting limousine that took him to the airport.
* That 4.2 seconds was the cherry on top for Sanders, a 6-foot-1, 192-pound cover cornerback/returner who was http://www.authenticsteelersshop.com/shop-by-players-bud-dupree-jersey-c-2_65.html coming into the NFL after a college season where he had five interceptions and returned two of those for touchdowns, a 15.2-yard punt return average with one of those returned for a touchdown, and with a 4.2 in the 40-yard dash at the Combine.
* Even with that, though, Sanders ended up being the fifth overall pick, by the Atlanta Falcons. Sounds ridiculous until you realize that Troy Aikman, Barry Sanders, and Derrick Thomas were three of the four players picked before him.

* As for Lake, he ended up being a second-round pick of the Steelers – 34th overall – and the perfect safety complement for cornerback Rod Woodson. A lot is made, and rightfully so when talking about Lake’s playing career, about the 1995 and 1997 seasons when he moved from safety to cornerback in the middle of each season to stabilize the Steelers’ secondary and help the team win those AFC Central Division titles and go deep into the playoffs. But it’s also historically accurate to recognize Lake and Woodson as the two primary pieces of the defensive scheme that eliminated the run-and-shoot as a viable NFL offense.
* When Kansas City defensive coordinator Bill Cowher was hired in 1992 to follow Chuck Noll, the Steelers defensive staff also included Dom Capers, Marvin Lewis, and Dick LeBeau. They came up with what was called at the time, the dime-defense. It included two defensive linemen plus two outside linebackers as a four-man front, a middle linebacker, and six defensive backs.
* Two of those six defensive backs – who ended up being Lake and Woodson – lined up on the two inside slot receivers in the run-and-shoot, where they either turned and ran with the receivers in coverage, or they came offhttp://www.officialvikingssale.com/shop-by-players-danielle-hunter-jersey-c-2_5.html the edge with a free path to the quarterback. Those run-and-shoot slot receivers were lined up just outside of each of the offensive tackles. It worked so well because Lake and Woodson actually could do both things, because if all they could do was come off the edge and rush, a quick pass to the slot receiver in the vacated area would’ve resulted in a series of big gains and/or third down conversions.
* When legendary defensive coordinator Buddy Ryan came to refer to the run-and-shoot as the chuck-and-duck, he probably was thinking about what the Steelers’ dime-defense was doing to that offense, and to the quarterbacks who were operating within it.

NFL Free Agency: Why Cowboys Are On Track For Up To Four Com

Příspěvekod Angel92 » 13 bře 2017 02:33

In 2017 free agency so far, the Arthur Moats Womens Jersey Cowboys have made much more headlines with the players they've allowed to leave Dallas than with the players the Cowboys are bringing in or bringing back. As a result, a part of the free agency discussion in Dallas has revolved around the potential for the Cowboys to receive some compensatory draft picks next year for the free agents they'll lose this year, and this focus on comp picks has drawn some derisive sneers here and there.
But think about it this way: if the Cowboys had traded away DE Jack Crawford for a sixth-round pick instead of letting him go for free, wouldn't you have jumped at that opportunity? What if, instead of letting Terrance Williams leave to another team as a free agent, the Cowboys would have gotten a third-round pick for Williams? Wouldn't you have started an impromptu victory dance if that had happened?
That, in a nutshell, is what compensatory draft picks are all about.
If you want to read up on the mechanics of how the comp picks work, read this article from a few weeks ago. What's important for us today is that the annual value of a contract signed by the free agents determines which draft round a compensatory draft pick is awarded for. Going off this year's estimate by OverTheCap.com, this could be the annual contract value required or each round:
3rd-round pick: $9.0 million or more
4th-round pick: $6.0 million
5th-round pick: $4.5 million
6th-round pick: $3.0 million
7th-round pick: $1.5 million
The Cowboys have lost four compensatory free agents so far, and have not signed any yet, so technically they would be in line for four comp picks right now - and as long as they sign four fewer comp free agents than they lose, it will remain that way.
Dallas Cowboys Comp Pick Tracker
Qualifying Free Agents Lost: 4 Qualifying Free Agents Gained: 0
Name Rd. Annual Value Name Rd. Annual Value
Ronald Leary 4th $8,750,000 - - - - - -
Barry Church 4th $6,500,000 - - - - - -
Terrell McClain 5th $5,250,000 - - - - - -
Jack Crawford 6th $3,433,333 - - - - - -
But (and there's always a 'but') if the Cowboys were to go out and sign four compensatory free agents, all those extra comp picks would go up in smoke.
Last year, the Cowboys did just that whenAntonio Brown Youth Jersey they signed DT Cedric Thornton, RB Alfred Morris, DE Benson Mayowa, and OL Joe Looney in the first weeks of free agency. And there's a good chance they'll bring in a handful of free agents again this year, but those potential signings might not automatically reduce the Cowboys' comp pick total.
For one thing, the Cowboys may well lose more compensatory free agents than listed in the table above. Brandon Carr, Terrance Williams, Morris Claiborne and J.J. Wilcox, could all depart, and all would be comp-pick eligible. Even down-roster guys like Gavin Escobar, Mark Sanchez, or even Jonathan Cooper might fetch a contract big enough to qualify as compensatory free agents.
Also, not every free agent signed automatically qualifies as a compensatory free agent. Players that are released (QB Josh McCown) don't count. Restricted free agents that aren't tendered by their teams (Benson Mayowa last year) don't count. Free agents signed after May 9 (Justin Durant last year) don't count. Also of interest for the Cowboys, free agents with ten or more accrued seasons (DeMarcus Ware) may not valued any higher than a fifth-round pick in the cancellation chart, regardless of what contract they sign.
But back to the business of prematurely counting comp picks:
There's a good chance Terrance Williams could sign a contract worth a fourth-round comp pick, and Brandon Carr might also net a http://www.officialnflapparelshop.com/nfl-jerseys-tennessee-titans-c-1_1538.html fourth with the right type of contract, though the Cowboys may decide to re-sign him if the right type of contract is not forthcoming for Carr.
In any case, there's a good chance the Cowboys could net up to four comp picks in the 2018 NFL draft, and those picks will probably be in the fourth and fifth rounds of the draft, a slightly better haul than the four comp picks they got in the 2016 draft.
In 2015, the Cowboys had lost seven compensatory free agents and signed just three, also giving them four comp picks in the next draft. Here's how that played out:
2016 Dallas Cowboys Comp Picks
2015 free agents lost: 7 2015 free agents gained: 3 2016 Comp picks: 4
Name Rd. Annual Value Name Rd. Annual Value Name
DeMarco Murray 4 $8,000,000 Greg Hardy
$8,994,100
Jermey Parnell 4 $6,400,000 Dak Prescott
Bruce Carter 6 $4,250,000 Kavon Frazier
Henry Melton 6 $3,750,000 Darius Jackson
Justin Durant 6 $3,600,000 Rico Gathers
Dwayne Harris 6 $3,500,000 Andrew Gachkar $2,600,000
George Selvie 7 $1,200,000 Darren McFadden $1,500,000
In 2015, the Greg Hardy signing canceled out DeMarco Murray's departure, just as Dwayne Harris and George Selvie were canceled out by Andrew Gachkar and Darren McFadden. That left the Cowboys with four comp picks that netted http://www.officialvikingshop.com/shop-by-players-andre-smith-jersey-c-2_11.html them Dak Prescott, Kavon Frazier, Darius Jackson, and Rico Gathers.
Not everybody will get excited at the prospect of extra day three picks, but if one of those picks nets the Cowboys another player of Prescott's caliber, a little excitement might be in order.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport http://www.officialvikingssale.com/shop-by-players-cordarrelle-patterson-jersey-c-2_13.html reported Friday that former Patriots and Browns pass rusher Jabaal Sheard has agreed to a three-year, $25.5 million deal with $12.75 million in guarantees, per a source informed of the situation. The Colts later confirmed the signing.
Sheard figures to start at outside linebacker for the Colts across from fellow free-agent addition John Simon, who arrives in Indy after three seasons with the Texans. The Colts also have Akeem Ayers and Lavar Edwards on the edge.
After a promising campaign with theRoger Staubach Authentic Jersey Patriots in 2015, Sheard lost his starting spot in New England last season. He rebounded to play a role down the stretch and offers valuable versatility. Before toiling for Bill Belichick, Sheard capably adapted to endless coaching and scheme changes with the Browns, who made him a second-round pick in 2011.
With 36 career sacks, Sheard has earned the reputation as a tough player who will suit up through injury without complaint. BothStacy Mcgee Womens Jersey he and Simon are solid additions for new general manager Chris Ballard, who feels like a breath of fresh air for Colts fans.

I’ve said many a time thatArtie Burns Womens Jersey Twitter is the greatest sports bar in the world. In this “sports bar” you serve as the owner, bartender, and bouncer because your Twitter experience is fully customizable to your liking. If you’re like me then you’ll want to open a seat at your Twitter bar for Dallas Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick, who is now part of the Twitterverse
Orlando Scandrick is already fairly active on his Instagram page, but you can add Twitter to his social media repertoire. The Cowboys cornerback is one of the loudest members on a defense that was surprisingly effective in 2016, butDan Mccullers Jersey is set to lose some contributors – and already has in the case of Terrell McClain – before 2017 begins.
The Dallas Cowboys secondary is going to have a new look for Scandrick to tweet about as Safety Barry Church has already agreed to a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the statuses of Morris Claiborne, Brandon Carr, and JJ Wilcox are all still unknown. Scandrick is obviously returning along with 2016 rookie standout Anthony Brown to help man the cornerback positions, and 2015’s first-rounder Byron Jones will help ensure the safety position along with Jeff Heath and Kavon Frazier.
Of course various Free Agents – whether our own or outside ones – could still be brought in and the NFL Draft could bring with it http://www.officialnflapparelshop.com/nfl-jerseys-denver-broncos-c-1_1071.html some secondary help. Whatever the case hopefully we can look forward to tweets about it from Orlando Scandrick who you can – and should – follow at @OScandrick32.

The case for the Minnesota Vikings to trade tight end Kyle R

Příspěvekod Angel92 » 13 bře 2017 02:40

Coming off of the best season of his NFLErnie Stautner Womens Jersey career, the trade value of the Minnesota Vikings’ tight end may never be higher than it is right now.
In terms of production, Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph has never really had a better statistical season during his career than he did in 2016.
During his sixth year in the NFL, the Vikings’ tight endMiami-Dolphins Womens Jersey caught 83 passes for 840 yards and seven touchdowns. His final numbers for catches and receiving yards were both single-season career highs.
The question is, can he continue to produce out on the field like he did in 2016? Before last season, Rudolph averaged 47 catches, 458 receiving yards, and five touchdowns per 16 games during his career.
But thanks to his increased http://www.officialvikingshop.com/shop-by-players-jake-long-jersey-c-2_56.html statistical output, Rudolph’s value as a trade asset for Minnesota also saw a spike in its value in 2016.
Not being afraid to cut ties with some of its most talented players is what separates the elite NFL franchises of today from the rest in the league. If the Vikings are truly serious about transforming into a consistent force in the NFL during the upcoming future, making a move like trading Rudolph or something similar is the type ofhttp://www.officialvikingssale.com/shop-by-players-sharrif-floyd-jersey-c-2_20.html transaction that may need to become more ordinary.
But why should the Vikings even consider trading away their best tight end?

Star Evaluation: Thornton Provided Solid Depth at Defensive

Příspěvekod Angel92 » 14 bře 2017 08:16

The roster turnover is aboutSammie Coates Womens Jersey to begin. Free agency opens in less than one month and the 2017 NFL Draft isn’t far behind it. Over the next two months, the Cowboys will lose and replace a sizable portion of their roster.
For every new face, however, there are dozens of familiar ones who will return to begin a new campaign. From established veterans to second-year players, the vast majority of the Cowboys’ 2017 team is already on the roster. In the coming weeks, the staff of DallasCowboys.com will preview those players, analyzing where they’ve been and where they’re going.
Today we’ll continue the series with defensive tackle Cedric Thornton.
What’s Been Good: Although Thornton was Darrius Heywardbey Jersey primarily a defensive end in four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Cowboys picked him up in free agency a year ago with the idea of moving him to defensive tackle. At 6-foot-4 and nearly 300 pounds, he has the size to work inside in coordinator Rod Marinelli’s defensive line rotation, and indeed provided valuable depth at a position of need. While never considered a sack master, Thornton did manage to total 1.5 sacks, which was a career high, while also posting only his second career forced fumble and fourth fumble recovery. And all this came despite him missing the final three games of the regular season due to an ankle injury.
What’s Been Bad: There was some thought heading into training camp that Thornton could challenge for a starting spot, but that never materialized, even when Tyrone Crawford got pushed outside to help cover for a lack of depth at defensive end. In the end, rookie Maliek Collins eventually surpassed Thornton on the depth chart, in part because Thornton was only credited with 22 tackles. He averaged 43 takedowns per season http://www.officialnflapparelshop.com/nfl-jerseys-san-diego-chargers-c-1_1345.html during his tenure with the Eagles.
2016 Highlight: The Cowboys were on a three-game winning streak, but questions still remained about how good the team actually was. With Andy Dalton and the Bengals coming to town for a Week 5 matchup, Dallas was expecting to see a tougher test, and although Cincinnati wasn’t quite what we thought, the Cowboys still took care of business, dominating the visitors, 28-14. The defensive line did its part, sacking Dalton four times, which included a second quarter sack by Thornton, who went on to also post a tackle for loss and a quarterback hit. The performance was a perfect example of how the big men up front could impact a game as the Bengals were limited to 269 passing yards.
What’s Next: The Cowboys will enter the 2017 campaign with Collins almost assuredly penciled in as one of the defensive tackle starters and David Irving, or if he is re-signed Terrell McClain, would seemingly be higher on the depthhttp://www.officialvikingshop.com/shop-by-players-moritz-boehringer-jersey-c-2_17.html chart also. Thornton can again be a valuable rotational guy – you can seemingly never have enough – but now in the second-year of his four-year contract, he’s actually among the top-25 highest paid defensive tackles in the league. The Cowboys are probably hoping for a little more bang for their buck.

Should the Cowboys trust Chaz Green to be future starting RT

Příspěvekod Angel92 » 14 bře 2017 08:17

While fans and analysts alikeCedric Thornton Jersey rush to figure out ways to fill the gaping holes at cornerback, safety and defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys, there is another issue lurking in the shadows.

Green showed a ton of improvement in Brandon Carr Womens Jersey getting out of his stance, creating space and maintaining a half-man relationship with a defender (the three laws of pass protection).

The best part of Green’s skill http://www.authenticnflraidersshop.com/shop-by-players-kelechi-osemele-jersey-c-2_5.html set is that it continues to show development.

If they decided to go the free agencyhttp://www.authenticraiderssale.com/shop-by-players-jack-tatum-jersey-c-2_38.html route, a player like Luke Joeckel would be a great option. If they wanted to go the draft route, they could grab a guy like Ryan Ramczyk or Taylor Moton in this first couple rounds or a player like Antonio Garcia with a mid-round pick.
Still, the answer to the original question is clear: Chaz Green isn’t the future starting right tackle the Cowboys are looking for, and it’s time for Dallas to find a player who is.

Should Raiders re-sign Perry Riley Jr.?

Příspěvekod Angel92 » 14 bře 2017 08:18

ALAMEDA, Calif. -- The OaklandKevin Greene Youth Jersey Raiders are scheduled to have 13 unrestricted free agents this offseason after the team broke through with a 12-4 season and its first playoff appearance since 2002.
On offense: offensive lineman Menelik Watson, tight end Mychal Rivera, receiver Andre Holmes, quarterback Matt McGloin and running back Latavius Murray.
On defense: defensive back DJ Hayden, defensive tackle Stacy McGee, linebackers Malcolm Smith, Perry Riley Jr. and Daren Bates and safeties Nate Allen and Brynden Trawick.
And on special teams: long snapper Jon Condo.
Linebacker Perry Riley Jr. gave the Raiders veteran leadership after signing in midseason. Photo by Ezra Shaw/Getty Images
Middle linebacker Perry Riley Jr.
Age: 28
2016 base salary: $1 million
Why he should stay: Signed off the street Greg Lloyd Womens Jersey on Oct. 4 after four games, Riley, who spent his first six seasons in Washington, immediately helped settle the middle of the Raiders defense after Ben Heeney was lost for the season with injury and rookie Cory James was unable to solidify things. Riley’s 62 tackles in 11 games – he missed the Carolina Panthers game with a hamstring injury – ranked sixth on the team and he forced a fumble on his first series as a Raider. He forced another fumble in the Raiders’ playoff-clinching victory on Dec. 18 at San Diego and by the time the season ended, he was a 12-game starter in Oakland, including the playoffs, and had the green dot on his helmet as the team’s defensive signal-caller.
Why he should go: Yes, Riley settled things down for the Raiders defense, but it was still ranked No. 26 unit in the NFL. So is that a testament to Riley’s ability or a shot at how poor the defense played? That depends upon how you look at things. Riley had two passes defensed, but he did not have a sack or an interception while starting 11 regular-season games and the playoff loss at the Houston Texans. Riley fits the mold of a journeyman and he will be 29 with a lot of mileage on him come next season.
The quote: “I love this place. Like I said, thehttp://www.officialnflapparelshop.com/nfl-jerseys-miami-dolphins-c-1_228.html team, the fans, opened their arms for me and welcomed me with open arms. I loved it here, so if everything works out, perfect scenario, definitely I’d come back.” – Riley, on the prospect of returning to Oakland in 2017.
The thought: Riley, childhood friends with outside linebacker Bruce Irvin, was the best the Raiders had last season at middle linebacker. So unless they draft an upgrade who is ready to contribute immediately, sign one in free agency or acquire one in a trade, it makes sense to bring Riley back for another run.

2016 Player Exit Meetings – WR Cobi Hamilton

Příspěvekod Angel92 » 14 bře 2017 08:19

The Pittsburgh Steelers find that theirJoe Gilliam Kids Jersey 2016 season ended a bit prematurely, and are undergoing the exit meeting process a couple weeks sooner than they would have liked. Never the less, what must be done must be done, and we are now at the time of the year where we close the book on one season and look ahead to the next.
While we might not know all the details about what goes on between Head Coach Mike Tomlin and his players during these exit meetings, we do know how we would conduct those meetings if they were let up to us. So here are the Depot’s exit meetings for the Steelers’ roster following the 2016 season.
Player: Cobi Hamilton
Position: Wide Receiver
Experience: 1 Year
The 2016 season was certainly an eventful oneJoe Gilliam Jersey for wide receiver Cobi Hamilton, who finally got an opportunity to make a difference in an NFL season after originally being drafted in the sixth round by the Bengals in the 2013 season.
Hamilton was active for just one game during the two portions of two seasons in which he was with the Bengals. He was activated for the team’s playoff game loss to the Colts at the end of the 2014 season due to injuries at the position. Otherwise, he has spent time on their practice squad, as well as on the practice squad or the offseason roster of the Eagles, Dolphins, and Panthers before landing with the Steelers.
Hamilton was with the Panthers during the 2016 offseason before being released in late July. The Steelers picked him up in early Septembers and fairly quickly drew some attention for his height and quickness. He showed enough potential during the preseason to earn himself a practice squad spot on what seemed to be a deep receiving corps.
That depth was tested significantly following injuries to multiple players, with Hamilton being promoted from the 53-man roster after the first five games. He saw action on the final drive of that sixth game and caught two passes for 36 yards including a 23-yard touchdown, albeit a meaningless one.http://www.officialnflapparelshop.com/nfl-jerseys-san-francisco-49ers-c-1_1394.html
He was a fairly consistent presence on the field for most of the rest of the season, logging a good number of snaps in nearly every game, though only being sparsely targeted, and frequently being relied upon to serve as a blocker, especially while Darrius Heyward-Bey was sidelined on offense for most of the second half of the season.
He never caught more than three passes in a game, and nine times—including the postseason—he caught one or none, but more often than not, it seemed, that one reception would prove to be a key third-down conversion or a big play.
Still, it was also clear at times, none more so than during the AFC Championship game, that he was likely being asked to play a larger role than should be expected of him. Though he came away with a meaningless 30-yard touchdown in that game, he also dropped another touchdown earlier in the game, and caught another one illegally after going out of bounds.
Hamilton has already been re-signed as an exclusive rights free agent and figures to compete yet again for a roster spot, or at worst, a spot http://www.officialvikingshop.com/shop-by-players-andrew-sendejo-jersey-c-2_45.html on the practice squad. He is a quality depth player, in my opinion, but you would prefer that he not be asked to be one of your top three guys.
